It passed The Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Amendment Act’ in 2011 for the digitisation of cable television networks regulating access to subscribed channels. A number of treaties have been entered into with countries like Italy and Brazil with a view to increase distribution and accessibility of Television programs produced in India.

The Broadcasting segment of this Industry, which is one of the largest in the world, has also been given approval for up to 74% FDI under the Government route and up to 49% under the Automatic route. The Video Games Industry as well as the mobile app industry have also found their stride and are growing at a phenomenal rate, which is only expected to increase in the coming years.
